Tara Dedrick

Tara Dedrick is a life long resident of Cattaraugus County growing up in Delevan and raising her family with her husband John in Allegany NY. Tara has always loved arts growing up and incorporated arts (drawing painting and music) in her years of teaching Kindergarten.
Tara has recently retired from CA BOCES as their Literacy Coach for 14 years.
7 years ago Tara walked into the TCAC and has never left.  Pottery has become a source of joy and therapy for Tara. She creates one of a kind pieces and donates all her profits to support local and global charities.
You can find Tara traveling, grand-parenting her grandson Jack and creating pottery in her Shed at home as well as teaching children and adults at the TCAC.

Calling all children ages 6-12.  Do you know the Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Grouchy Ladybug are coming to the TCAC? Come spend time in the illustrations and words from the books of the famous children’s author and illustrator Eric Carle.

Eric Carle uses simple colorful paint, white tissue paper and his imagination to create animals and insects that teach us lessons about hope and kindness. Local teacher and artist Tara Dedrick spent a week sharing, instructing and creating pretty tissue paper and beautiful pictures , reflecting illustrations from Eric Carle’s books with young, budding artists.

Pictures above from working with OIMS teachers Cari Matejka and Laura Hamed and 40 of their students who make up the Literacy of Love Club at the school.  This club focuses on awareness of others and support children who live in Uganda. The children created beautiful pottery -HOME ornaments and wrote beautiful poems about home. Family and friends were invited to enjoy and celebrate the art created and displayed at the TCAC. May 2021
