Join us for the Storage Basket Class. You’ll go home with a Basket that not only looks great but is functional too!

What makes this basket special, isn’t just the prepared solid wooden base that you will be weaving on, but the pottery sleeves included with your basket. The sleeves used will be made by the Tri-County Arts Council’s resident Artist Violet Nolder, who will provide us with all of the sleeves for this basket class. She will have an additional selection of Premium Sleeves available to purchase as an upgrade to your basket. 

Your finished basket will be approx. 8.5″w x 9″t – but can vary based on your weaving style. You will learn basic over/under weaving, plus the “turn-back” technique and how to attach a pottery sleeve handle to your basket. We will show you how to finish the rim of your basket, and give you tips on staining and other finishes for your basket. You will also receive a free basket tie-on decoration with your basket. 

Basket Weaving requires some hand strength. You may be required to stand at times to complete weaving taller baskets. Reed is required to be wet when weaving – dyed reeds may “bleed” so wear your “crafting clothes”.
